Our client, a Leading Australian Mining Service Provider was operating in an emerging market. They had great experience and skills and had expanded their business, but needed to move to the next level and that meant differentiation.

5d had partnered with the team for two years on strategy, when we developed an idea for going to the next level. By focusing on taking customer value to another level and building internal capability to deliver this value consistently our client could take a firm grasp on leadership in their market.

5d worked with our client to focus on developing their aspirational way of working, more focused on performance, professional, a balanced focus on safety, maintenance and production and greater visibility for overall performance and communication. The answer centred around the shift handover. 5d went beyond the standard industry information centres to bring new concepts and technology to the solution. Our goal was to make coal processing sexy.

Using new iPad’s, LCD TV’s and AppleTV, 5d led the development and implementation of the SH2 solution that now is available for the market to access www.sh2.com.au

5d supported the successful roll-out of the new way of working through the development of the feasibility study, implementation plan, partner sourcing and management and delivery across 12 sites national on time, on budget achieving much more value than initially anticipated.

Our client now use SH2 as a part of what they do day to day, achieving improvements in safety and communications performance in particular in the time SH2 has been in operation. A true performance culture has been established. SH2 was recognised for its excellence winning an award at the Australian Engineering Excellence Awards in 2012.
