The execution of large capital projects in the mining sector involves hundreds if not thousands of people. For a Global Tier 1 Mining Company’s Energy Delivery Hub it was critical that their internal owners team and the primary contractors were closely aligned throughout the phases of delivery.
For our client, alignment meant reconnecting with the strategic intent of the project and the ultimate business they were attempting to create, the unique delivery context and the delivery mechanisms there to support execution and exploring the individual work preferences and resulting team dynamics.
5d was engaged to work on several projects across several of the client’s Australian mining sites and the Terminal 4 Project for the world’s largest coal handling facility in Newcastle to play a lead role in designing and facilitating the alignment described above.
5d worked closely with each Program Director and Organisational Effectiveness Managers to understand the unique context for each project and to then design, coordinate and deliver sessions that were engaging, practical and produced purposeful and valuable alignment within the teams and across contributing partners.
5d has continued to work with these teams as they change and transition, reviewing progress and supporting operational planning to meet organisational governance and performance requirements.
5d has supported projects across Pre-feasibility, Feasibility and Construction phases.
