Within our Global Tier 1 Mining Company client’s Energy Delivery Hub based in Brisbane is a function dedicated to designing and implementing operating systems and providing assurance and engagement for achieving optimal results for project delivery.
Through the support of 5d strategy and implementation support this function has evolved as a team and a business from a seemingly unrelated group of functions to a more cohesive team delivering coordinated value to their variety of customers.
5d worked with the current leaders to design and deliver a series of strategic and operational design sessions over eighteen months that enabled this evolution. Operating models were developed, clarity of purpose for each function as well as the interfaces and overlaps between them were explored and verified. All this was done with a recognition of limited bandwidth to work on their business due to the project workload, so things were keep simple and practical, including identifying the work or activities that no longer added the required value and thus needed to be concluded.
